According to the results of the study, Japanese brands are recognized as the leaders in reliability. Specialists recorded the fewest problems and malfunctions in Lexus cars — their average score was 78 points out of 100 possible. Toyota took second place with a result of 76 points.
Third place went to Mazda, which managed to rise from twelfth position in a year. This progress was ensured by high reliability ratings for the CX-9 and MX-5 Miata models. Subaru and Kia followed right behind them. The outsiders of the rating were Tesla, Cadillac, and Volvo.
Among individual models, the body-on-frame SUV Lexus GX was recognized as the best. Second place went to the hybrid hatchback Toyota Prius C, which underwent a restyling a year earlier. The car is equipped with an updated hybrid system consisting of a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor, whose combined power reaches 100 horsepower. In the combined cycle, the car consumes 2.6 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. The top three was rounded out by the Toyota Prius Prime, while the fourth and fifth positions were taken by the Mazda MX-5 Miata and Toyota Corolla.
