“It is too early to say whether the new product will be produced in a limited series. However, in any case, we are talking about a super sports class model. If we recall the Hyundai R16 concept car (photo), we can get a rough idea of the future car,” Shemera said.
The Hyundai R16 prototype, made according to the layout with a mid-engine and two seats, debuted in 2016. The concept features a two-liter four-cylinder unit with electric supercharging.
The engine works in conjunction with a six-speed manual transmission and produces 300 hp, while torque reaches 382 Nm. The all-wheel drive transmission distributes torque in a 43:57 ratio in favor of the rear axle. Perhaps the production version will get a more powerful engine — about 350 horsepower.
