The G80 sedan became the brand's best model, taking second place in the premium midsize car category.
To compile this year's rating, specialists surveyed 68 thousand owners of new cars who had used them for 90 days. Participants were asked to evaluate their purchase according to 77 criteria — from the response to pressing the accelerator pedal to the level of comfort during the trip. The final indicators for each of the 31 manufacturers were derived on a scale of 1000 points.
As calculated by J.D. Power experts, Genesis scored 884 points, while the average result for the segment was 851 points. Porsche earned 883 points. Next were BMW (863), Lincoln (861), Mercedes-Benz (858), Audi (853), and Volvo (850). At the end of the list were outsiders — Jeep, Mazda, and Mitsubishi, receiving 799, 798, and 783 points respectively.
A year earlier, the leader of the APEAL (Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout) rating was Porsche with a result of 884 points. Genesis then took second place with 869 points, and third place with 855 points went to BMW.
