The models are a direct hit into the segment that was previously occupied exclusively by the BMW X6 (well, and the Acura ZDX). The most powerful AMG GLE63 S should provide direct competition to the BMW X6 M.

The cars do not differ much externally. Both have flared arches, a teardrop-shaped rounding of the hood and roof, which gives them a coupe look. At the front, huge aggressive air intakes and a wide radiator grille catch the eye.

For the 450 AMG, a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 is provided, producing 362 hp, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. If you prefer something "hotter" - for you there is the GLE63 with 577 hp.

And despite the spiteful forecasts of detractors that such cars will sell poorly, Mercedes does not believe it. And BMW has already convinced itself and others that coupe-crossovers are very interesting to customers...
