Ternopil's "municipal workers" have received compact Chinese electric cars that can accelerate up to 45 km/h and travel up to 100 km on a single charge. As the local publication te.20minut.ua notes, these vehicles cost $12,000 each, but the city received them as a gift from the company Korsar.

The task of Ternopil's municipal inspection is to prevent and deter violations of public order within the Ternopil urban territorial community, in cooperation with the National Police and other law enforcement and regulatory bodies. The electric vehicles will be used by its staff to patrol city parks and the embankment of the Ternopil Pond. In a comment to the media, the head of the municipal inspection department, Ihor Maksymov, said that thanks to the electric cars, inspectors will be able to work efficiently and quickly, issue rulings, and draw up administrative protocols against violators.

Of course, such initiatives from businesses cannot but please. Thanks to them, Ukrainian cities are being improved. However, the stated price of the cars raises questions. We did not find this specific model, but similar cars are sold in China (via the internet) for prices ranging from $1,000 to $2,000. Even considering delivery and customs clearance, each electric car costs at best $5,000, so it is not entirely clear where the $12,000 price tag comes from.
