So, covering 100 km in an electric car that consumes 20 kWh will cost approximately UAH 305–355. For a gasoline car, the same distance requires about 10 liters of fuel, which will cost over UAH 600. Thus, even with the use of paid charging stations, an electric car remains almost twice as economical.
According to the Institute of Car Market Research, more than 185,000 electric vehicles are already officially registered in Ukraine, with 57% of these cars having batteries with a capacity of over 50 kWh. This gives reason to consider most of these vehicles suitable for long trips between regions.

Despite the increase in electricity distribution tariffs that took place on September 1, 2025, prices at most charging stations have not changed. Only one operator slightly increased the cost of fast charging, while another reduced it by UAH 1.50 for AC connectors and almost UAH 1.91 for DC. In September, the average price per kilowatt-hour is UAH 15.27 for AC and UAH 17.77 for DC.

Experts also analyzed costs for every 100 km of travel: even with a fairly high consumption of 20 kWh, an electric car turns out to be more profitable, especially if you charge at home at night. Public fast charging, although more expensive, offers the main advantage — speed and comfort, which is key during long trips.
