According to estimates by the analytical agency Rho Motion, sales of electric vehicles in China reached approximately 1.3 million units. The European market showed growth of 36% — to 372,786 cars, while in North America sales fell by 41%, stopping at 100,370. In other regions of the world, demand for electric cars increased by 37% — to 141,368 vehicles.

In Europe, the main contribution to growth was made by Germany, France, and the UK. In addition, the EU approved more battery production projects, which strengthens the local manufacturing base. China, as the largest automotive market on the planet, provides more than half of all global electric car sales, including both fully electric models and plug-in hybrids.

According to Rho Motion data specialist Charles Lester, in China the price difference between electric vehicles and cars with internal combustion engines is significantly smaller than in European or North American markets. The decline in sales in North America is associated with a reduction in government incentives: after the end of the $7,500 tax credit program, buyer interest dropped significantly.

As for Ukraine, certain trends are also noticeable here. By the end of 2025, imports of electric vehicles (both new and used) increased significantly: over the first eight months, more than 61,700 passenger electric cars were imported, which is 52% more compared to last year. In September 2025, for the first time, new electric vehicles took first place among all new registrations — their share amounted to about 33% of total sales. At the same time, the market is actively accepting used electric vehicles: in September, 6,473 units were imported, almost three times the number of new electric cars for the same month.
