In October, the number of registrations of diesel cars increased by 15% compared to September. Compared to October last year, the growth was 6%. This dynamic contrasts with previous months, when interest in such cars was gradually declining.
At the same time, the market for new diesel cars is still shrinking. Last month, 1.4 thousand such cars were purchased, which is 6% less than in the same period a year earlier. Renault Duster again held the lead among new diesel models.
The top five leaders among new diesel models in October 2025:
- Renault Duster — 281 cars sold
- Toyota Land Cruiser Prado — 218
- Volkswagen Touareg — 160
- KGM Musso Grand — 131
- Skoda Kodiaq — 89
In the category of used diesel cars, there is also a positive dynamic: growth of 10% — to 4.6 thousand registrations. Here again Renault leads, and the compact Megane has the greatest demand.
The top five most popular diesel cars with mileage:
- Renault Megane — 376 registered cars
- Nissan Qashqai — 319
- Skoda Octavia — 275
- Volkswagen Passat — 259
- Volkswagen Golf — 168
Thus, despite the general trend towards electrification, diesel cars retain steady demand, especially in the secondary market, where Renault remains the undisputed leader.
