On the occasion of such an important milestone in the model's history, the French spoke about the demand for the Duster worldwide.

Production of Renault Duster

The two hundred thousandth Duster for Germany was produced at the Dacia Mioveni plant in Romania: this same enterprise recently celebrated the production of the two millionth Duster, which AvtoPortal wrote about a few days ago. As then emphasized in Renault Group, 93% of crossovers produced at this site had Dacia logos, the rest – Renault. By the way, these 7% also apply to Ukraine: in our country, the Duster is sold under the logo of the parent company.

The Dacia Mioveni plant produces about 930 Dusters daily, 90% of which are exported, the rest are intended for the domestic market. The car is supplied from Romania to 44 countries.

But let's return to more recent data, which is more about revealing the global aspect.

The Duster first appeared on the market (including the German one) in 2010, and in 2017 the second generation of the model was already released. Since then, 1.9 million such crossovers have been sold across the planet.

In 2011, a year after the release of the Dacia Duster for Europe, the same car debuted under the Renault brand. This version is sold not only in Ukraine, but also in Latin American and African countries, as well as in Russia and India.

Currently, the popular SUV is presented in 100 countries worldwide. In addition to Romania, it is also produced in Brazil, Colombia, Russia, and India.

Duster 2021

To strengthen its strong market position, Renault/Dacia are preparing an updated version of the second-generation Duster – it will be shown on June 22, and will go on sale in the fall. In addition to visual changes (retouched radiator grille, bumpers, different front and rear optics, as well as new alloy wheels), the updated Duster will receive a wider color range (body paint options), a modernized interior (new infotainment system, improved trim materials), and a richer choice of versions. Namely, the appearance of a petrol all-wheel-drive variant (with the TCe150 engine) is predicted in the specification line. Currently, with the 4x4 system, you can only buy a diesel Duster.

The next generation of the iconic SUV should be released in 2024. One of the innovations for the model should be the appearance of hybrid versions.
