For this, the bloggers took three cars – two Passats, with 2.5 MPI and 1.8 TFSI engines, as well as one Fusion equipped with a 2.5-liter unit – and gave them a test drive of 200 km under identical conditions. All sedans had full fuel tanks, driving was economical, without sharp accelerations and braking. In addition, tire pressure was monitored, and drivers were rotated.

After the Passats and Fusion covered 100 km in the city and 100 km on the highway, they were refilled to the brim. Then the difference in fuel was used to determine the actual fuel consumption, resulting in the following figures:
- Volkswagen Passat 1.8 TSI – 7.7 l/100 km
- Volkswagen Passat 2.5 MPI – 8.0 l/100 km
- Ford Fusion 2.5 L – 8.7 l/100 km
Additionally, the bloggers tested the sedans for acceleration, and here are the results:
- Volkswagen Passat 1.8 TSI – 8.8 sec (to 100 km/h)
- Volkswagen Passat 2.5 MPI – 10.1 sec
- Ford Fusion 2.5 L – 12.1 sec
In the same order, the cars also underwent a braking test, but the bloggers note that the Ford was in far from the best technical condition, so the figures for this particular example may differ significantly from the model's average.
