The Germans have been conducting this test on an ongoing basis since 2014, and to date, almost 70 cars have undergone it. The essence of the test is that new cars aged 1 to 3 years fall into the hands of testers, who then drive them for 100,000 km, recording all defects and breakdowns found in the vehicle along the way. Then, at the end of the test, each car is sent to a service station, where it is disassembled, assessed for wear, and a verdict is given.

Cars are assessed on absolutely all parameters: damage to the engine and transmission, chassis, electrics, exhaust system, body, etc.

So, at the moment, the five most reliable cars based on the results of 100,000 km of mileage are:

5th place - Toyota Prius IV

4th place - Audi A4 Avant

3rd place - Seat Ateca 1.4 Eco TSI Style

2nd place - Audi A6 Avant sport 40 TDI S tronic

1st place - Audi A3 Sportback g-tron

It is worth noting that none of the cars in this top five caused any complaints from experts, except for the Audi A6 Avant – this car has noted “glitches” in the rear parking sensors. But another Audi representative, the A3 Sportback g-tron, became the absolute winner of the rating. By the way, this car runs on methane, so once again you can be convinced that gas-powered passenger cars can be just as reliable as their petrol and diesel counterparts.
