In November, almost all key European car markets showed positive dynamics, except for the British one, where sales fell by 1.3%. The growth leaders were Germany (+9.7%), Spain (+2.3%), Italy (+2.2%), and France (+0.7%).

In terms of the number of new passenger car registrations, Germany again took the lead — 299,127 vehicles.

France held the second position with 172,731 registered cars in November.

The top three was closed by the UK, where sales amounted to 156,621 new cars.

Among European automakers, as usual, the VW Group took the first place, selling 301,524 vehicles in the EU markets, which is 13.4% more than in November last year.

In second place was the PSA Group with a result of 171,932 cars sold — this is 7.2% less than a year earlier.

Third was the RENAULT Group, whose sales reached 119,998 units (growth of 4.3%).

According to the results of eleven months of the current year, the total number of new car registrations in the European Union almost returned to last year's level (-0.3%), which was facilitated by confident indicators of the last quarter. At the same time, four of the five leading EU markets shrank over the period from January to November, especially noticeably — Spain (-5.7%) and the UK (-2.7%). The only major market of the union that shows growth in 2019 remains Germany (+3.9%).
