As part of the joint project, it is planned to develop and launch production of urban electric cars under the Smart brand.
The exterior of the electric cars will be developed by Mercedes-Benz specialists, while the technical content will be prepared by Geely engineers. The plans include the release of several models, including the first Smart B-class.
Production of electric cars for the global market will be organized at a new plant in China. Sales of the updated Smart lineup will begin in 2022.
