The Sonata Turbo received a 1.6-liter turbo engine producing 182 hp. The engine can be paired with a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Externally, the turbo version differs with a different radiator grille shape and additional air ducts under the headlights. At the rear, there are dual exhaust tips, a different bumper, and a small spoiler.
In addition, a hybrid version of the new Sonata was shown in Seoul. So far, it is only known that the model has a roof with solar panels. The batteries can accumulate enough energy over a year to drive about 1300 km on electric power.
