All significant automotive markets of the European Union ended November with a decline in indicators: the Spanish market lost 12.6% of new passenger car registrations, the German one — 9.9%, the Italian — 6.3%, the French — 4.7%, and the British — 3%.

Germany still remains the main automotive market in Europe. Over the month, 272,674 passenger cars found their owners in the country.

In the second position of the ranking is France — residents of this country bought 171,611 cars in November.

The top three is closed by Great Britain with a sales volume of 158,639 cars.

Among European automakers, the first place, as usual, is held by VW Group. The concern sold 265,814 cars in the EU markets, which is 10.9% less than in November last year.

The second line is occupied by PSA Group with a result of 185,071 sold cars — this is 5.8% lower than the indicator of a year ago.

The third result in terms of sales volume is for Renault Group — 115,108 units (a decrease of 16%).

Although the last three months brought negative results, over eleven months of 2018, the demand for passenger cars in the EU grew by 0.8% compared to the previous year, exceeding the mark of 14 million registrations. On the key EU markets, the dynamics were different: Spain (+8.0%) and France (+4.7%) showed confident growth from January to November 2018, while Italy (-3.5%) and Great Britain (-6.9%) reduced the number of registrations over the same period.
