As usual, the Chinese market remained the leader in sales volume, with about 2.7 million cars sold. This means that demand in China increased by 3.2 percent.

The second place in the global ranking was taken by the United States with a result of 1.5 million cars sold, which is 6% more than the previous figure.

Total sales in Western European countries decreased by 2% and amounted to 1.5 million units. This decline is due to the fact that the previous year's results in 2016 were exceptionally high.

At the same time, car sales in Eastern European markets grew by almost 12%, reaching 352 thousand units.

In addition, among the largest national markets, Japan stands out with 490 thousand cars (+4.5%), Canada with 187 thousand (+8%), and South Korea with 151 thousand (+21%).

In the first nine months of the current year, a total of 70.2 million cars were sold on the global market, which is 3% more than the result of the same period last year.
