Tesla became the first foreign car brand to receive permission to establish its own enterprise in China, without having to share technologies or enter into mandatory partnerships with local companies.
The electric vehicle market in China is developing rapidly and is not subject to additional duties, so the American manufacturer did not miss the chance to organize its own production in the free economic zone of Shanghai.
Over the past year, Tesla sold 11 thousand cars in China, and in 2017 it is expected that sales volume will exceed 30 thousand electric vehicles.
