The past year was one of the most difficult for the automotive market in all the years of Ukraine's independence. Despite the fact that the solvency of most Ukrainians leaves much to be desired, the dynamics of new car sales indicate that more and more citizens can afford to buy a car in a dealership.
According to the Ukrautoprom association, in February, 4,201 new passenger cars were registered in the country. This means that the demand for new cars increased by 32% compared to January, and by 44% compared to February last year.
The leader of February was the French brand Renault, whose sales amounted to 429 units, which is 78% more than in the same period of 2015. Japanese Toyota, which took first place in January, dropped to second place in February, showing an increase of 17%. The top five also included: Nissan - 299 cars (+31% to February 2015 and +6% to January 2016); Lada - 250 cars (+117% to February 2015 and +33% to January 2016); Skoda - 233 cars (+174% to February 2015 and +89% to January 2016).
