However, there are other, less obvious at first glance circumstances that can determine how the “fate” of a car will turn out.
As the data analysis showed, in 2011 the most accident-prone day of the week for drivers was Wednesday — it accounted for 20.5% of all recorded insured incidents. It was followed by Thursday with 16.1%. Monday, which is commonly considered a “hard day,” took only the third position, and Tuesday — the fourth, with results of 15.8% and 15.3% respectively.
Among weekdays, Friday turned out to be the least accident-prone — 14.9% of cases. As for weekends, accidents happened noticeably less often there: on Saturday — 9.1%, and on Sunday — 8.3%.
“Every morning many of us think about what the coming day will bring. According to our data for 2011, Fridays and weekends were the calmest. But this is not a reason to relax on these days or, conversely, avoid trips on Wednesday. Attentiveness behind the wheel is needed every day and at any time of the day — and then no statistics will be able to disrupt your plans,” recommends Anatoliy Klimyuk, director of the claims settlement department of Allianz Ukraine insurance company.
