Question from Sergey:
Bolshaya Okruzhnaya Doroga, the overpass at Zhulyany towards Borshchahivka. After the bridge was widened, the old road markings remained unchanged for a long time. Later, they tried to paint over them, but did it poorly, and now they are almost completely worn off. The question arises: is it permissible to cross a double solid line if it does not correspond to the changed road conditions?
Answer from Karat driving school experts:
The photo shows that the road has two separate carriageways, between which there is a structurally separated dividing strip. On each of these parts, traffic goes in only one direction. Therefore, marking 1.3, that is, a double solid line, makes no sense here, and it is allowed to cross it from either side. This is a shortcoming either of the State Automobile Inspection, responsible for traffic organization, or of road services.
Conclusion:
In this situation, the applied markings do not reflect the real road conditions, so crossing the solid line is permissible.
