This was reported by Pentagon spokesman John Kirby at a briefing on April 27, CNN informs.
"At this point, without naming an exact number, it can be said that more than half of these howitzers have already been delivered to Ukraine", he noted.
Kirby also clarified that 50 Ukrainian servicemen who underwent training to operate these weapons have already completed their training and are heading home. They will act as instructors for Ukrainian artillerymen.
In parallel, Australia, responding to requests from the US and Ukraine, will send Kyiv a new aid package including six howitzers, ammunition, humanitarian cargo, and coal for the energy sector.
It is worth recalling: since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine has received $5 billion from allies for security needs.
