Cost of car re-registration in 2021

According to a government resolution adopted on September 15, registering a car for the first time or re-registering it upon sale will now cost 200 UAH. Previously, this procedure was cheaper, and the amount depended on the type of vehicle. For example, re-registration of domestic passenger cars cost 152.60 UAH, imported ones — 190.15 UAH, and foreign motorcycles — 186.15 UAH.

The cost of license plates and forms has not changed — the price increase only affected the service itself. Thus, for passenger cars of foreign production, state plates will cost 178.20 UAH, and the form — 312 UAH.

In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers increased the fee for storing license plates in the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for vehicles that have been deregistered or re-registered. Previously, this service cost 3.6 UAH per day, but now it is 9 UAH per day.

The government explained that the previous tariffs did not meet market realities, which is why the services were provided at a loss.
