In particular, as reported by the head of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, Danylo Hetmantsev, the idea is to introduce cash registers for taxi drivers. However, carriers will not have to carry special equipment with them – such cash registers will be in the form of an app on a smartphone/tablet.

“We are currently holding working groups on this bill… We must oblige every taxi driver to have a software-based PRRO; it is not difficult to install on a phone,” Hetmantsev stated.

The taxi market in Ukraine is quite large, as hundreds of thousands of people use it daily. However, it is almost not controlled by the state, which is why the budget loses huge amounts of money (since the taxi market mostly does not pay taxes). The authorities' idea is understandable and it was bound to happen sooner or later, but how this mechanism will be implemented is still unclear. Of course, it is possible, but it is unclear whether the state has enough resources for this.
