Compared to April, growth was also recorded – 4%.

In Zaporizhzhia, Renault Arkana crossovers, some Kia models, and Lada are assembled. In Zakarpattia, Skoda models are produced. For more details on which cars are produced in Ukraine as of 2021, Autoportal previously reported in this article.

Interestingly, earlier the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Starukh, expressed confidence that ZAZ would produce 10,000 cars in the entire 2021 (referring to the corresponding opportunity within the agreement with the Renault group). The plans sound quite ambitious, considering that from January to May the enterprise produced only 1,742 passenger cars, plus 39 buses. As for Eurocar, this plant produced 1,796 cars in the first five months of 2021.

There is statistics for the automotive industry as a whole, and in other segments there was also a jump (but not in all cases). Thus, 53 buses were produced in May, almost twice as many as a year earlier and % higher than the April figure. As for trucks (and other commercial vehicles), 7 units were produced – this is 3.5 times more than in April 2021. But compared to May 2020, there was a sharp drop – by 42%.

In total, since the beginning of 2021, 3,795 vehicles have been assembled in Ukraine – 2.5 times more than in the first five months of 2020. Of this number, 3,538 are passenger cars (growth of 167%). The share of buses was 242 units ( 20%), and commercial vehicles – 15 units (-37%).
