The corresponding resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, which amended the vehicle registration procedure, was adopted on February 16, and now it has come into force.
The buyer will be able to register the car immediately after purchase and receive license plates and a technical passport. According to Arsen Avakov, the first car has already been registered at a car dealership, and it took only 10 minutes.
The Minister of Internal Affairs explained that the right to register cars can be granted to car dealerships engaged in wholesale and retail trade of vehicles and registered with the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
To do this, they need to gain access to the National Automated Information System of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Car dealerships will receive license plates and technical passport forms.
For now, this option applies only to new cars. The buyer, if desired, can refuse this service and register the car on their own. By the way, recently car license plates in Ukraine are issued according to a new principle.
