The average age of cars in the country has increased by 0.3 years compared to the same period last year. The Ukrainian car fleet continues to "age," and the main reason is the significant share of imported used cars: 39% of them are 8 years old or older.

It is noteworthy that a significant milestone was recently reached — the total number of vehicles in Ukraine for the first time crossed the 10 million mark. As of January 1, 2021, this figure stands at 10.2 million, while a year earlier it was 9.7 million.

As expected, passenger cars account for the largest share — there are 8.8 million of them. Thus, on average, there are 245 cars per thousand residents of Ukraine.

In addition, experts note a noticeable increase in the number of electrified vehicles over the past few years. For example, if in 2019 there were 9.9 thousand electric cars in the country, now there are already 23.7 thousand. The number of hybrid cars over the same period increased from 12.1 thousand to 33.6 thousand.
