Such figures do not indicate a real recovery of the automotive industry, but merely reflect the effect of a very low comparison base.
The production of passenger cars doubled compared to the same period last year. As a year ago, only one manufacturer operated in this segment of the Ukrainian auto industry — Eurocar. In September, 960 Škoda cars were assembled at its facilities using the CKD method.
The volume of bus production increased by 30% and amounted to 92 units.
The largest number of buses was produced by the Chernihiv Automobile Plant, part of the Etalon corporation — 37 vehicles. Cherkasy Bus produced 35 units, Chasiv Yar Plant — 9, ZAZ reported 6 buses, and another 5 were made by the Bohdan corporation.
In the statistics for September on commercial vehicles, only one car assembled at the Cherkasy Bus enterprise is listed. It is worth noting that AvtoKrAZ has not published data on its own production since August 2016.
Over nine months of 2019, from January to September, 5,283 units of motor vehicles were produced in Ukraine — 4% more than in the same period a year earlier.
Passenger cars — 4,579 units (+4%);
Commercial vehicles — 81 units (-31%);
Buses — 623 units (+6%).
