In second place by the number of sold cars was again a compact crossover — Renault Duster, which found 1,151 buyers in three months.
The third place in the national ranking of new passenger cars was taken by another SUV — Toyota RAV-4, with a result of 793 cars.
The largest regional market in the country traditionally remains Kyiv: in the first three months of 2019, about a third of all new passenger cars sold in Ukraine were registered in the capital.
Next comes Dnipropetrovsk region with a share of 7.2% of total sales.
The top three is closed by Kyiv region, which accounted for 7% of the new car market.
The top five regions also included Kharkiv (6.9%) and Odesa (6%) regions.
Summing up the quarter, the Ukrautoprom association also named sales leaders in each region.
The most popular car in Ukraine, KIA Sportage, became the winner in ten regions at once: Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Rivne, Kharkiv, and Kherson.
Renault Duster also topped the rankings in ten regions: Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv.
In two regions — Ternopil and Chernivtsi — the Toyota RAV-4 crossover took first place.
Kyiv, however, bet on Renault Logan: this budget Renault model received the most capital registration numbers from January to March. For comparison, in the overall national ranking, this car took fourth place with 755 units.
In Zakarpattia region, Skoda Octavia, whose assembly is established near Uzhhorod, won the most sympathy. In the national standings, the Octavia with sales of 499 cars took seventh place.
Volyn region stood out with an unusual choice: there, in the first quarter, the Peugeot 301 was in greatest demand, which in the overall ranking of new passenger cars in Ukraine occupies only 33rd place with 143 registrations.
