The public presentation of the new Corvette will take place on July 18, and production of the model will start in September at the plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

For the first time in its long history, the Corvette changes its layout and becomes mid-engined. Details about the sports car's technical content are still not available.

It is assumed that the engine lineup will include only naturally aspirated V-8s and a version with two turbochargers. The gearbox is an 8-speed ZF dual-clutch automatic, like in Porsche. Insiders also report an all-wheel-drive hybrid under the code name Emperor.

Judging by the latest General Motors patents, the new Chevrolet Corvette may get a complex of active aerodynamics with movable side skirts and a spoiler, electric door drive that takes into account wind force, and suspension with a lift system capable of changing the center of aerodynamic pressure.
