In February, 90.8 thousand passenger cars underwent primary registration in Ukraine, and the vast majority of them — 85 thousand — were imported used cars.

This dynamic means that compared to February last year, the volume of registrations of imported second-hand cars increased almost 14 times, and compared to January this year — by 65 percent.

The bulk of these cars were the so-called "euro plates": for them, February was the last month when it was possible to clear customs at reduced excise tax rates.

Among used foreign cars that underwent customs clearance, Volkswagen became the leader. In February, 17,971 such cars received Ukrainian registration.

The second position was taken by Opel — 9,420 cars of this brand were first registered in Ukraine in a month.

The third place in the segment of used passenger cars went to Audi: the result — 7,608 units.

The fourth most popular was BMW, which was chosen by 6,442 Ukrainians.

Renault closes the top five February brands — 6,120 cars that changed foreign license plates to Ukrainian ones.

Overall, since the beginning of the year, 136.5 thousand used passenger cars imported from abroad have undergone primary registration in Ukraine. This is 12 times more than in the same period last year.
