Compared to the same period last year, the physical volume of imports increased by 28%, while its monetary value grew by only 7 percent.
Such a noticeable difference between the growth in the number of imported cars and their cost is explained by the fact that the share of used cars in the total import volume has significantly increased.
The bulk of the imported vehicle fleet consisted of passenger cars — 188,319 units were imported, which is 35% more than in the same period a year earlier.
The total customs value of delivered passenger cars reached $1 billion 975 million, which is 5% higher than the figure a year ago.
At the same time, imports of trucks and special equipment decreased by 2%: from January to November, 37,651 units were imported for a total of $706.5 million.
As for buses, their imports jumped by almost 54% and amounted to 1,767 units. The purchase of such a quantity of equipment cost importers $61.6 million.
