Last year, almost every third new passenger car in the country was registered in the capital. Demand for cars in Kyiv remained virtually unchanged year-on-year — growth was only one percent. The most popular car among Kyiv residents was the Skoda Octavia: 979 such cars were registered with Kyiv license plates.

The second largest regional market is Kharkiv region, which accounted for 7.3% of all new cars sold in Ukraine. Compared to 2017, the interest of region residents in buying cars decreased by 9.5%. The most sought-after car in Kharkiv region at the end of the year was the Mazda CX5 — the region's car fleet was replenished with 285 units of this model.

Third place went to Dnipropetrovsk region with a share of 7.2% of the new car market. However, the activity of local buyers fell by two percent. The KIA Sportage was in greatest demand in the region — it was chosen by 226 residents of the region.

In fourth position was Kyiv region with a share of 6.9% and an increase in registrations by 11 percent. Here, the most popular car of the past year was also the KIA Sportage, which was preferred by 243 people.

The top five largest regional markets is closed by Odesa region. Its contribution to the national market of new passenger cars amounted to 6.3 percent. Compared to last year, demand in Odesa region fell by 3.5%, and the best sales were demonstrated by the Hyundai Tucson — 217 new registration plates with Odesa code.
