The National Association of Ukraine states that due to the current situation, the state treasury and local budgets lose from 5 to 7 billion UAH every year, and by the end of this year these losses could grow to 10 billion UAH.
As noted in the association, recently the petroleum products market has faced serious problems, the main one being the massive emergence of unofficial gas stations.
"Such points of sale in the vast majority of cases operate without properly executed land documents, do not use cash registers, do not officially register their employees, do not obtain permits for working with hazardous facilities, and commit many other violations of the law," the organization emphasizes.
The NAU draws attention to the fact that the operation of shadow gas stations directly threatens people's health and safety, since such facilities are often built in violation of building codes and are located dangerously close to residential areas and public institutions.
"The sale of fuel without fiscal devices leads to the growth of unofficial cash flows, which creates grounds for corruption among regulatory bodies. Moreover, the situation is already so serious that some foreign companies are thinking about winding down their business in Ukraine because they cannot compete with the shadow sector," the association's statement says.
According to the calculations of WOG CEO Serhiy Koretsky, the monthly volume of fuel sales at illegal gas stations reaches 40 thousand tons.
