Among the vehicles imported into the country this year under the "transit" scheme, almost 57.9 thousand cars with foreign license plates are in Ukraine with exceeded permitted periods. There is no data yet on the "temporary import" regime — the stay period for such vehicles has not yet expired.
It is worth noting that in the first six months of 2018, major importers brought 35.5 thousand new passenger cars into Ukraine, and the amount of paid customs duties amounted to about 7 billion UAH.
For the entire 2017, 79.5 thousand new passenger cars entered the country through major importers, from which 15.6 billion UAH of customs payments were transferred.
Currently, the fiscal service is ready to support legislative initiatives aimed at resolving the problem of cars with foreign registration.
