Ukraine has never seen such volumes of imported used cars: a record number of used cars from abroad was registered in a single month, and their share in the primary market became the highest in recent years.
While sales of new cars were falling, demand for imported second-hand cars in June increased 1.9 times compared to the same month last year, and by 14 percent compared to May.
The most popular brand among imported used cars was Volkswagen: 1,353 such cars were registered in June. This is three times more than the number of new cars of this brand sold on the Ukrainian market over the same period.
Second place goes to Renault — 1,280 used cars, which is 90% higher than June sales of new Renaults.
The top three is rounded out by Skoda with 855 used cars. This is 67% more than the brand's result on the new car market in June.
In fourth place is Ford: 603 cars changed foreign owners to Ukrainian ones. Used cars of this brand outpaced new ones in primary registrations by 86 percent.
The top five is closed by Nissan — 495 used cars versus 366 new ones.
Since the beginning of the year, 41.8 thousand passenger cars with mileage imported from other countries have received Ukrainian registration. This is 83% more than in the same period last year.
