The brand leader of the Ukrainian market in the reporting period was Toyota, which sold 4,238 new passenger cars. Compared to the first five months of 2017, demand for cars of this Japanese brand grew by a quarter. And the best-selling Toyota model was the compact crossover Toyota RAV-4, chosen by 1,201 motorists.
The second place in the brand ranking was taken by Volkswagen, which doubled its result of a year ago, selling 3,256 cars from January to May. The brand's bestseller was the "dieselgate" model Volkswagen Golf, chosen by 1,308 Ukrainians, thus ensuring it the title of the best-selling car in Ukraine.
Despite a 5% drop in demand, Renault remained in the top three, with the result of this French brand on the Ukrainian market being 3,166 cars. The sales driver for Renault remains the Renault Duster crossover, with 1,218 registrations to its credit.
