The sales leader among car buyers was the KIA Sportage — 1,862 units of this model were sold in the first half of the year.

The second place went to the Renault Logan, with sales of 1,456 cars.

The third position was taken by the Skoda Octavia, chosen by 1,170 buyers.

Another Renault model, the Duster, also made it into the most sought-after list. Demand for it reached 1,146 units, securing the fourth spot for the half-year.

The top five is rounded out by the Toyota RAV-4 with 1,040 cars sold.

The top ten for the first six months of 2017 also included: Toyota Corolla — 951 units, Hyundai Tucson — 862 units, Ford Fiesta — 809 units, Volkswagen Tiguan — 778 units, and Nissan Qashqai — 750 units.

Overall, since the beginning of the year, the country's car fleet has grown by almost 37,000 new passenger cars, which is 36% more than the results of the same period last year.
