According to the president of the Oil and Gas Association of Ukraine, Dmytro Kulyk, the majority of illegal fuel traders have moved to the Kyiv region. In this regard, the organization plans to interact with regional authorities to limit the growth of the shadow sector.
"The Association has intensified its efforts in this direction, we are in contact with regional law enforcement and explain the current situation to them. A similar picture is observed in other regions. For example, in Dnipro, a network of 30 unofficial gas stations was shut down, and in Mariupol, the police together with public activists began checks of gas stations for the legality of their work," noted the head of the NGU, adding that the organization is ready to help authorities in all regional centers.
Earlier it was reported that at the end of March, Kyiv authorities strengthened measures against unofficial gas stations. To completely clear the city of unauthorized structures, including gas stations, four mobile groups were formed, which included representatives of the KARS, SFS, prosecutor's office, National Police, and labor inspection. The work was planned to be completed by May 9, when the Eurovision contest starts in the capital.
