During the past month, state registration plates of Ukraine were first issued to 3,034 used passenger cars imported from abroad. Thus, the share of imported used cars in the primary market for passenger cars reached 38 percent. For comparison: in February 2016, this figure was 17%, and in January of this year — 31 percent.
Since the beginning of the year, over two months, the country's car fleet has been replenished with 5,212 used cars brought from other countries.
According to the results of two months, the leaders among brands in the primary market for used cars were: Renault (1,018 units), Volkswagen (933 units), Skoda (649 units), Opel (456 units), Nissan (289 units).
The number of used Renaults registered in January-February 2017 almost coincided with the sales volume of new cars of this brand over the same period. For Volkswagen, registrations of used cars were 14 percent higher than sales of new ones. For Skoda, the advantage in favor of second-hand was 22 percent. As for Opel, demand for used models exceeded demand for new ones by almost 7 times.
Of the presented five, only Nissan showed a significant superiority of new cars over used ones in the primary market — by two times.
