This is stated in the draft law prepared by the Cabinet of Ministers and concerning amendments to the Tax Code, which is posted on the portal of the Verkhovna Rada. In particular, the document provides for an increase in the excise tax on heavy distillates (gas oils) of Euro-4 and Euro-5 classes by 32.1% (by €30.5) — to €125.5 per 1000 liters.
Also, the government's draft law initiates an increase in the excise tax on heating oil and fuel oil by 29.4% (by €28.5) — to €125.5 per 1000 liters. At the current official euro exchange rate of 27.09 UAH/€1, if this amendment is adopted, the SFS predicts that the cost of diesel fuel at gas stations will increase by 90 kopecks per liter.
Earlier, the State Fiscal Service (SFS) published on its website another draft law, which proposed to remove the excise tax on retail trade in petroleum products and simultaneously raise the base excise rate on gasoline, diesel fuel, and liquefied gas. The increase in excise tax rates on these types of fuel, including gasoline, diesel fuel, and liquefied gas, is set at a comparable level — €42 per ton or 1000 liters.
