This time, the commission on naming issues under the Kyiv City State Administration approved the renaming of Moskovsky and Vatutin Avenues in honor of Bandera and Shukhevych.
In the near future, the commission plans to rename four streets, two avenues, and a lane: Bauman Street to Janusz Korczak Street, Vanda Vasilevskaya Street to Zmiyenko Street, Kutuzov Street to General Almazov Street, Suvorov Street to Mykhailo Yemelyanovych-Pavlenko Street, Kutuzov Lane to Yevhen Hutsalo Street, Vatutin Avenue to Roman Shukhevych Avenue, and Moskovsky Avenue to Stepan Bandera Avenue.
In addition, it is proposed to rename the Kyiv (Zhuliany) airport in honor of aircraft designer Antonov — the corresponding petition is posted on the Kyiv City Council website. There are also plans to rename Boryspil airport to Sikorsky — in honor of aircraft designer Igor Ivanovich Sikorsky.
