Due to the rush and threats of sanctions, a business of selling places in queues that formed at the MREO departments has appeared in Crimea. The peninsula's automotive infrastructure turned out to be unprepared for such an influx of applicants, as did the employees of the registering authorities.

At the same time, it became known that car owners who did not manage to replace Ukrainian license plates with Russian ones within the established period are not yet threatened with fines. However, the leniency will be in effect for a limited time — only three months.

Starting from August 1, local authorities intend to hold drivers accountable for using Ukrainian plates.
