This law was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on November 25, 2015. According to it, a zero import duty rate is established for vehicles with electric motors. The implementation of the provisions of this law creates prerequisites for reducing the price of electric vehicles and increasing their share in the Ukrainian car market, which will contribute to environmental protection, ensure Ukraine's energy independence, and also greatly simplify access for the Ukrainian population to the latest developments and technologies.
"The implementation of the law's provisions creates prerequisites for reducing the price of electric vehicles and increasing their share in the Ukrainian car market," noted the presidential press service. The law comes into force on January 1, 2016.
