This is already the fourth "electric" rally marathon, held under the patronage of Prince Albert II of Monaco. This year, the route will pass through 10 countries and 17 cities. Participants will have to cover 2800 km. About 30 crews from different countries, including Ukraine, have expressed their intention to take part in the electric rally. All four domestic teams plan to reach the finish in Monte Carlo.

Electric Marathon 2015 is unique not only in the length of the route, but also in its format – the winner of the race is determined not by speed, but by the accuracy of arrival time at the finish. The so-called "zero car" starts first and sets the reference time. The participant who comes closest to this time will become the winner of the grand prix. The winner will receive a prize from Prince Albert II.

Mobile auto trailers equipped with non-stationary charging stations will be responsible for recharging the participants' electric vehicles.

Interestingly, among the electric cars that took part, there are also homemade cars powered by energy. Among them are electric (!) ZAZ-966, GAZ M-20 "Pobeda", Tavria Pickup, Electra 2 and Porsche 924.
