According to media reports, the protest by the Aidar fighters is linked to the disbandment of their unit. The soldiers blocked traffic with passenger cars, causing a major traffic jam.

As the Aidar battalion commander Serhiy Melnychuk stated: "The battalion was disbanded three days ago. According to documents, it no longer exists. At the same time, the Minister of Defense and the Chief of the General Staff say they did not sign such an order. But documents have already arrived at the front line stating that such a unit does not exist, along with the seal of a new unit. We will picket the Ministry of Defense to ensure the battalion continues to exist and protect the integrity of Ukraine," said the commander.
According to the latest statement from the Ministry of Defense, the battalion will undergo re-registration to prevent fraud. The defense ministry stated that the changes will only involve re-registering the military unit's numbers and replacing the seal. This is done to prevent abuse of the seal and documents that were previously lost and could become a tool in fraud by certain individuals.
