"From January 20, competitive selection and testing should begin. Selected candidates will undergo rigorous training for three months, followed by more tests. The expectation is that 50% of candidates will pass, and in spring (no later than 4.5 months from the start of recruitment) the country will receive a new patrol police service in Kyiv. Then, following the example of the capital, the reform will expand to large and small cities of the country," - believes the Minister of Internal Affairs Avakov.

The doors of the renewed police will be open to all comers - military personnel, certified specialists, militiamen, and even students. Old employees will be dismissed if they fail to pass certification. The new structure is planned to have salaries up to 10,000 hryvnias per month. More precise figures have not yet been specified.
According to the reform plans, the service should combine the functions of the patrol service and the traffic police. Each patrol officer should be able to respond to a call, react to traffic violations, etc.
