As stated in the Cabinet of Ministers, among the total number of cars in Ukraine (1.3 million), a relatively small number of vehicles fall under the new tax – 17,300 cars.
Deputy Minister of Finance Denis Fudashkin claims that this is exactly how many cars in our country are up to 5 years old with an engine over 3 liters. Recall that it is for such cars that the government introduced an annual tax of 25 thousand hryvnias.

Analysts from AUTO-Consulting believe that the official made a mistake. According to our colleagues, the car fleet in Ukraine numbers more than 9 million cars (of which only in Kyiv more than 1 million cars are registered). Probably, the deputy minister meant the number of cars up to 5 years old, however, even in this case, the figures are significantly underestimated. Conclusion: either the government has broken calculators, or it has no access to the real traffic police database.
