As can be judged from the photo, the car has received visible changes in appearance. According to the concern, the new model differs significantly from its predecessor in terms of technical content, and there are also changes in the interior.
The fierce competitor of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class now differs from rivals in the luxury class by the presence of laser headlights, as well as a new instrument panel in the form of touch screens instead of dials. There is also an "autopilot" system for driving in traffic jams. The Germans promise to tell more about the car during its debut, which may take place in the near future at the Detroit Auto Show.
In the so-called basic version, the new "seven" will be equipped with a 260-horsepower gasoline engine, more expensive versions – with a 6-cylinder unit with a capacity of 330 hp and an 8-cylinder with a capacity of 460 hp. According to available information, BMW does not yet intend to retire the 12-cylinder engine either. There will be several diesel engines – with a capacity from 275 hp. As a tribute to the fashion for ecology and economy, the Bavarians will also offer a hybrid modification. Regardless of the engine type, the car has a 9-speed automatic transmission.
