Based on the results of the analysis, the Antimonopoly Committee concluded that the activities of such gas station chains as LUKOIL, Shell, WOG and OKKO may fall under the signs of monopolistic dominance in the fuel market. If violations are confirmed, these companies face a fine of ten percent of their annual revenue.
However, for now this statement is rather of a precautionary nature. The head of the AMCU, Mykola Barash, noted that the final decision on the application of sanctions has not yet been made. He also called on market players, experts and the public to propose more effective ways to resolve the current situation.

In its calculations, the committee relied on the official exchange rate of the National Bank: 15.76 hryvnias per dollar and 19.62 hryvnias per euro. Taking into account the margin of 180 dollars per ton, according to the AMCU calculations, a liter of A-95 gasoline should cost 15.01 hryvnias.
As evidence that the margin is indeed inflated, Barash referred to the promotional campaigns of the operators themselves. He noted that companies no longer hide their profits and asked the question: what should the markup be to afford giving away every 25th liter for free, and discounts reaching 70 kopecks per liter?
