It is clear that the maximum number of thefts is recorded in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Over the past nine months, 1800 and 1500 thefts were recorded there, respectively. They are followed by Kyiv with an indicator of 1000 stolen cars. And in total, since the beginning of the year, 8719 cars have been stolen.
However, as some law enforcement officers note, the real number of crimes in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions may be significantly higher. The fact is that not in all cases can victims report a theft.

Most of the stolen (in one way or another) cars are driven by criminals to the ATO zone, and then to Crimea or to the territory of Russia. Some cars are used for the needs of armed terrorist formations. On the territory of Ukraine there is no mass sale of stolen cars yet, but still law enforcement officers recommend being careful and checking purchased cars against the traffic police databases. If you are offered a car for "cheap", because the seller is a displaced person and urgently needs money, there is a high chance of getting problems with this car.
